Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have been notoriously private about their almost 2-year-old daughter Wyatt, and now the dad-of-two is opening up about keeping their daughter out of the spotlight and his own experience with the fame monster with Entertainment Tonight.

Kutcher, who began his Hollywood career at age 20, alongside a 14-year-old Kunis, on That ’70s Show in 1998, is adamantly against the same path for his daughter, at least until she is old enough to make that choice for herself.

“When it is a choice that she is making, then I think it is fine,” he told ET. “As long as it’s not a choice that she is making, it is my job to protect her from all this nonsense.”

The 38-year-old actor, who has enjoyed a career in Hollywood for almost 20 years, talked about the downside of celebrity life, claiming, “Fame is not for the weary.”

He added, “If you want to stand on the public stage, you [have] to be ready to get booed.”

Kutcher, who has almost 20 million social media followers, also says that he has become more cautious with his posts and that, “You get thick skin really quick.”

“You’re throwing meat in the cage and it doesn’t matter how well-intended you are, somebody is going to tear it up,” the dad-of-one explained.

Kutcher, who has been very open about the joys of fatherhood, announced in June that he and Kunis are expecting their second child together.
